  14. The seven powerful modules of BeagleWorks allow you to integrate
  15. information with unprecedented flexibility and convenience. The key to
  16. BeagleWorks' integration is the linking of information between documents,
  17. using a revolutionary technology called In-Context Editing in combination
  18. with Publish and Subscribe.

  20. Like other integrated programs for the Macintosh, you can copy information
  21. prepared in one module then paste that data into another module. Most folks
  22. agree that this is a useful feature, but it's not what we call true
  23. integration. BeagleWorks uses Publish and Subscribe to hot-link material
  24. between documents with two simple keystrokes: Option-Copy and Option-Paste.
  25. And because a custom System 7-style Edition Manager is built into the
  26. application, BeagleWorks also supports Publish and Subscribe under System
  27. 6.0--with no sacrifices in functionality.

  29. BeagleWorks' In-Context Editing lets you make changes to data placed into
  30. any of the modules without having to leave the module in which you are
  31. working. Just double-click on the data to edit and the tool bar and menus
  32. automatically change to those of the module you used to create the data.
  33. This unique feature lets you edit a spreadsheet block or color graphic, for
  34. instance, in the context of a word processor document you placed it into.

  36. When you make changes to a linked item, the original document is
  37. automatically updated with the changes. And if you change the original
  38. document, the linked item changes too. Of course, you can "freeze" these
  39. links if you want to, and the original data will no longer change. This
  40. two-way communication between documents allows you to freely edit linked
  41. material, without the inconvenience of always having to go back and edit
  42. the original document. Information can be linked between all BeagleWorks
  43. modules (except Communications) and with other applications that support
  44. Publish and Subscribe.

  47. SHARED FEATURES

  49. Unlike some "integrated" programs that offer a few common features in all
  50. modules, those features are usually limited to the standard filing and
  51. editing commands. BeagleWorks offers much closer integration, in every
  52. module:

  54. o  Smart cut and paste lets you link documents by selecting material in one
  55.    document and pasting it into another. The documents are linked using
  56.    Publish and Subscribe--even under System 6.0!

  58. o  In-context editing lets you edit information linked from other
  59.    documents, no matter what module you used to create it.

  61. o  System 7.0 support includes Publish and Subscribe, Balloon Help,

  182. company is inviting owners of other integrated software packages to upgrade
  183. to BeagleWorks for $99.95 through December 31, 1991. To qualify for this
  184. offer, users must include with their order the first page of their user
  185. manual from any one of the following products: Microsoft Works,
  186. ClarisWorks, GreatWorks, AppleWorks 3.0, AppleWorks GS, Ragtime 3, or Desk.
